Itinerary

Schedule can vary:

  • Morning Pick-up from Cairns (approx. 10:00 AM): We’ll pick you up from your Cairns accommodation. Relax as we journey south towards the stunning Tully River.
  • Arrival & Preparation: Arrive in Tully and meet your fellow rafters. There might be a quick stop for an optional lunch (at your own cost) before heading to the top of the Tully River Gorge. Here, you’ll get fitted with all your rafting gear!
  • Safety Briefing & Training: Meet your professional guides – they’re world-class and set the benchmark for safety! You’ll receive a comprehensive safety briefing and paddling instructions before hitting the water.
  • Rafting the World-Class River: It’s time to launch! Experience the thrilling white water adventure, smashing down renowned Grade 3 and 4 rapids through a spectacular gorge. The Tully River is a world-class river, even hosting the World Rafting Championships!
  • Ancient Rainforest & Stunning Scenery: As you raft, be amazed by the ancient rainforest of Tully Gorge National Park – part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Mighty mountains covered in lush greenery and giant basalt columns will surround you, with waterfalls tumbling down.
  • Green Power Insight: You’ll be rafting in pristine water, flowing from the 88MW Kareeya Hydro, which helps provide clean, green energy to North Queensland.
  • Post-Rafting & Dinner: After conquering the river (approx. 5 hours of rafting!), we’ll arrive at the take-out point. Change into dry clothes before heading to a traditional Queensland country pub for a hearty dinner with your guide and crew, where you can share your river stories recounting
  • Return to Cairns (approx. 9:30 PM – 10:00 PM): Kick back and relax as we transfer you comfortably back to your Cairns accommodation, full of incredible memories from your white water adventure!

FAQs & Tour Information

A smile on your dial and a sense of adventure. Please wear your swimming costume under your clothes and bring a towel and a spare change of clothes. In cooler months bring a long sleeved rash top or thermal. During October to December it is March fly season. We recommend wearing strong insect repellent and bright coloured clothing – yellow/white/orange/fluorescent. Also bring your voucher and money for additional refreshments and purchase of any digital photos you may like as an awesome reminder of your epic adventure. Please leave jewellery and valuables at your accommodation.

Don’t Forget
To wear secure shoes. Footwear with a heel strap must be worn and hire shoes are available for $5, if you don’t want your shoes getting wet. Thermal tops and dry tops available for $5 for hire each.
Valuables
Valuables should be left at your accommodation. The following items can be left on the bus – dry clothes, daily medication, ticket / voucher, wallets and watches.
