Enjoy snorkeling in the cay’s protected shallow waters 🐠, try an introductory scuba dive in the fringing reefs 🤿, or cruise in the Semi-submarine/glass bottom boat for a diver’s view of the reef 🚤. Watch the fish feeding presentation 🐟, observe the bird life 🐦, or simply chill out on Ocean Spirit’s spacious decks or on the beach! 🏖️ Throughout the day, the ‘beach buggy shuttle’ will whisk you between Ocean Spirit and the beach.

Itinerary

  • 7:30 AM: Check-in at the Ocean Spirit Counter inside the Reef Fleet Terminal.
  • 8:00 AM: Boarding begins! Enjoy complimentary tea & coffee.
  • 8:30 AM: Depart Cairns for Michaelmas Cay and the Great Barrier Reef!
  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Safety briefing, reef brief, snorkel demo, and a Marine Biologist presentation. Intro dive brief for those diving.
  • 10:30 AM: Arrive at Michaelmas Cay Reef! Activities kick off: Fish feeding, snorkeling, Semi-submarine/glass bottom boat tours, and intro scuba dives (sessions at 11:00 AM, 12:15 PM & 1:30 PM).
  • 12:00 PM: Delicious buffet lunch served onboard. Enjoy more reef activities!
  • 2:30 PM: Afternoon tea onboard. Depart Michaelmas Cay for Cairns. Enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, cheese, and crackers on the way home!
  • 5:00 PM: Arrive back in Cairns.

Yes. You must check in at the Ocean Spirit/Great Adventures counter at the Reef Fleet Terminal to get your boarding pass. You can check in after 7.00am and we recommended checking in no later than 8.00am. Boarding commences at 8:00am and the vessel departs at 8:30am sharp.
