A day tour covers the highlights if you’re short on time ⏱️ A 3-day tour is slower, gets you to more spots, and lets you see the island at night and early in the morning. On most 3-day tours you also get to drive a 4WD on the beach (check each tour’s inclusions).

Both names mean the same place. The island officially got its traditional Butchulla name, K’gari (pronounced “Gurri”), back on 7 June 2023. It’s the world’s largest sand island 🏝️

  • Never feed or approach the dingoes (wongari). Walk in groups, keep food locked away and don’t run 🐕
  • Don’t swim in the ocean. The beaches aren’t patrolled and have strong currents, sharks and stingers
  • Swim only where your guide says it’s OK, like Lake McKenzie

2 to 3 nights in Noosa is perfect for the national park and the beaches, plus 1 to 3 days for your K’gari trip. Noosa sits between Brisbane and Rainbow Beach / Hervey Bay on the East Coast route.
