No. Heart Reef is protected, so you can’t swim, snorkel or take a boat there. You can only see it from the air 💙 Book a Heart Reef & Whitehaven scenic flight, or combine a flight with a boat day on the Scenic Flight & Whitsunday Tour.

  • Marine stinger season runs roughly from late October or November to May. Wear a full-body stinger suit when you swim or snorkel in the ocean 🪼
  • The Airlie Beach Lagoon in town is free, has lifeguards and is stinger-free all year
