No. The climb closed permanently on 26 October 2019, because Uluru is a sacred site for the Aṉangu traditional owners 🧡 Walk around the base instead: the base walk is 10.6 km and takes about 3 to 3.5 hours.

Yes. Everyone 18 and over needs an Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park pass. It costs $38 per adult and is valid for 3 days, and under-18s are free. Many of our tours include it, so check the inclusions on your tour.

May to September is the coolest time and the most comfortable for walking ☀️ Winter nights can drop below 0°C, so pack warm layers for sunrise and nights in a swag.
Summer is very hot. Walk early, carry plenty of water, and note that the Valley of the Winds walk at Kata Tjuta closes at 11am on days forecast to reach 36°C or more. Bring a fly net in the warmer months.

Yes, mostly 📸 Some parts of Uluru and Kata Tjuta are culturally sensitive, and signs and maps show where you can’t photograph or film the rock. Always ask before taking photos of Aṉangu people.
