Itinerary
Your Coast Warriors Blue Mountains adventure kicks off with convenient pickups around Sydney, leading to an hour’s drive through tunnels and western Sydney suburbs. This initial journey is your chance to connect with fellow travelers, enjoy the bus playlist, or catch some extra sleep before the excitement begins! As you enter the lower Blue Mountains, you’ll stop at a cool lookout where the bush meets the suburbs, often spotting a wallaby or kangaroo. Next up is Glenbrook, your guide’s hometown, for a quick coffee, smoothie, or takeaway breakfast, with plenty of options to fuel your day.
The journey continues, climbing another 800 meters in altitude, with engaging games or music to keep the energy high. A highlight is the “Secret Lookout,” where you’ll feel like you’re on the edge of the world, capturing amazing photos of Jamison Valley and Mt Solitary. Then it’s off to Wentworth Falls for a guided nature walk, offering stunning views, multiple waterfalls, and the challenging but rewarding “Stairs of Doom.” After working up an appetite, enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking Jamison Valley, with dietary needs catered for. The adventure culminates at Katoomba, home to the iconic Three Sisters rock formations, where you’ll learn their Aboriginal significance and might even encounter wild white cockatoos! An optional stop at another lookout overlooking Megalong Valley is often added before returning to Sydney around 5:20 PM.

A moderate fitness level is recommended. The guided hike through Wentworth Falls takes about 90 minutes. It features jaw-dropping cliff views but does include the steep stairs on the return climb. If you aren’t feeling up for the stairs, you can easily opt to skip that section and wait at the lookout with your guide.
Coast Warriors is the only Blue Mountains operator with a strict youth focus (generally capped at ages 18 to 35-ish). Children under 17 are not permitted. This guarantees a high-energy, social vibe on the minibus with a group of like-minded solo travelers.
A fresh, cafe-made picnic lunch (typically a hearty roll or wrap) is fully included alongside classic Aussie snacks like Tim Tams and Vegemite. Vegetarian, vegan, coeliac/gluten-free, and dairy-free options are easily catered for—your guide will grab your dietary requests first thing in the morning.
During the warmer summer months (November to March), you can absolutely kick your shoes off and take a refreshing dip in the shallow mountain streams and pools beneath the waterfalls. Just bring a towel and a change of clothes because the mountain water is beautifully crisp!
