Summer (December to February) has the warmest weather and the longest days ☀️ In autumn, the native fagus turns gold from late April into May. Winter is cold and quiet, and July and August have the best chance of snow at Cradle Mountain.
At Cradle Mountain, rain, wind, sun and snow can happen at any time of year.

Yes. You need a valid parks pass for all 19 of Tasmania’s national parks. Our three tours include national park entry fees, so you don’t need to buy one. If you explore on your own, buy a pass online or from a visitor centre.

Fly into Hobart, where our tours start ✈️ You can also take the Spirit of Tasmania car ferry overnight or by day from Geelong to Devonport, which takes about 9 to 11 hours.

Tasmanian devils are endangered because of a contagious facial tumour disease, so seeing one in the wild is rare. Wildlife sanctuaries are your best bet 😈 Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is about 30 minutes north of Hobart and is included on the 7 day tour. The 3 day tour visits the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo for devil feeding.

  • Warm layers and a waterproof jacket, even in summer 🧥
  • Comfortable walking shoes for the Wineglass Bay and Cradle Mountain walks
  • A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen: the sun is strong when it’s out
  • A water bottle and a day pack
