Product Description
Forget the slow, crowded ferries. If you want to see 45,000 humpbacks smashing their way from Antarctica to the Reef, you need a ride that can keep up.
From mid-May to early November, Sydney’s coastline turns into a whale superhighway—and we’re giving you a front-row seat to the action.
Why Ocean Extreme?
Speed is Everything: We run the fastest commercial boats in Sydney. Less time commuting means more time watching breaches, tail slaps, and blowholes.
The “Water Level” View: Our open-air, low-profile boats mean no glass, no crowds, and no obstructions. You aren’t just watching the whales; you’re in their world.
Personal Vibes: We skip the “big tour” feel. This is a high-speed adventure with a small group of legends.
Responsible & Respectful: We love these majestic creatures. We get you close, but we always play by the rules to keep them safe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ocean Extreme uses the fastest vessels in town, so we can get you to and from the whales quicker than any other boat. Thus, our tours don’t last as long. A tour can take about 2 hours if we board at Circular Quay and about 1.5 hours if we depart from Manly Wharf.
Unless it’s a windy day, you don’t have to worry about getting wet. We also supply spray jackets to keep you nice and dry. In the winter months, it can get very cold out at sea. Thus, you need to wear several layers under our jacket to stay warm throughout the trip. Wear a beanie and gloves on colder days.
Tour departs from the Cambell’s Cove Pontoon at Circular Quay. Passengers must arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
This is a high-speed adventure! Instead of a slow catamaran, you’ll ride on Sydney’s fastest commercial powerboats (reaching speeds up to 80km/h). Its low-to-the-water, open design puts you eye-to-eye with the whales with 360-degree, unobstructed views.
Yes. Because it is an exhilarating offshore ocean ride, all passengers must be at least 12 years old and over 1.3 meters tall. It is strictly not suitable for anyone who is pregnant or has pre-existing back, neck, or heart conditions.
Our high speed allows us to cover massive ground, giving us a 97% sighting success rate. However, if no whales are spotted during your safari, you will receive a 100% FREE return cruise voucher to try again another day!
